Frosted

I found this little beech sapling beside a stream encased in ice crystals. Unfortunately, I did not have my macro lens with me and it was difficult keeping the small stream as the background.

Nikon D700, 24-70 mm, f20, 1/5 sec.

Comments appreciated.

Tom, I really like the comp and the lines of the branch/twigs, and I think the background is fine. I think the frost is a little too bright to see the detail, though.

I agree completely with Barbara about the background and the brightness of the frost. The dead leaf (orange) adds interest.

Tom:
This is a very interesting comp. I like the contrast of white and dark bg. The flowing water is quite nice. The small orange leaf really pops against the white bg.

Wonderful composition and contrast, I think this would make a great B&W image, well seen.
