In the Danube floodplains in Lower Austria, on a foggy morning last week.

Looks like Didl Gloger has got a sidekick concerning chaotic vegetation shots of the Danube floodplains now ;)
I like the greens in here and the misty blueish background which create a nice depth. The center symmetry is very interesting too but the visually strong horizontal trunk on the left counteracts this idea a bit which isn't working that well for me. But otherwise there's nothing wrong about this one and you presented the mood of this area very well.

I find this a mystical and very compelling image. As is so often true, it gets better at each stage -- from thumbnail, to photo, to larger photo.

Great to see another one from this place. I know it is frustrating and hard to find structured compositions in the grey, brown mess of the undergrowth in this park, but you managed to find a comp that works. The radial shapes work, the color contrasts work. The green moss is just a tad too "neon", but it helps to add some pop to the scene.

Excellent shot Peter. The multiple radiating trunks in the foreground work very well with the dense woodsy background and the foggy light really helps bring out the glow of the moss. Nice work,

Peter, the larger version just pulls me in to the image. Beautiful.

I really love the color contrast here. I also like the comp with its radiating trunks

I'm a fan of these types of detail tree / foliage / habitat shots. This is def. nice and caught my attention. It does feel quite chaotic though, and the real dead looking background isn't really enticing me in to explore the scene. However, this might be a perfect shot to get a four-seasons variation.

Simplicity out of chaos. Certainly floats my boat.

Very chaotic, but the moss-covered branches do help to bring order to it all. Wondering about cropping a bit from the right to make the octo-plant a bit more off-center.

Pretty picture with all the moss and the bright green color. That BG is quite active.

Superbly done, Peter. The composition is exquisite with the lines of those moss covered trees isolated against the 'chaos' of the background. Fantastic work.

Beautiful, Peter. The green moss serves to highlight certain features very successfully over a highly complex bg. It's true that the tree on the lhs is oriented differently but I like the visual jolt that it causes. :toast:
