At first, I didn't like this one as much as the previous one I posted, but it has since grown on me and I now prefer it. I took some of your advice regarding contrast in the foreground rocks. What do you think?

C&C welcome and appreciated. :wavey:

This is...so weird that I love it!! A very good example of doing abstract work with a wide view and a wide angle. So difficult, and that you mastered so well. This is really really strong!! :toast:

Beautiful image. Great colours. Liked the glow off the rocks.
Some really fine textures and details.

I definitely like this more than the previous post. Lovely texture and color, and I like the comp too.

Alex, I love the elements of this one. The warm colors are awesome as well. The only nit I have is that there are a couple areas in the central part of the sky that, to me, seem washed out/ faded. I'm sure it is natural, but it seems counter to the rest of the mood of the sky. If it were mine, I would try to tame those areas with an adjustment layer or some burning.

I'm not as familiar with the western part of the U.S. (I'm assuming). Where was this?

Otherwordly! This comp looks great to me. The sky's smoothness contrasts nicely with the rock formation and textures.

Amazing! The extra boost in contrast really brings out the textures in the rock. :toast:

I definitely prefer this one Alex, it has an otherworldly feel to it. Each brain section has a nice separation to it and the sky is pure magic. Absolutely love it!

Whoa! Great shot and the monsoon sky is amazing. Really like the strong concentration on the brain rock.

I think I agree with you - I prefer this one to your previous post - it leads the eye a little less convincingly than the other, but this one feels more "interesting" (you want to look around more) and the sky in this one is more appropriate to the rock shapes (the other one had some slightly distracting cloud formations at the horizon). Congrats on the amazing shot once again.

Fantastic, Alex. Fascinating rock forms that, set against that sky, really come alive. Outstanding image.

Awesome formation--looks like some close up of either ground beef or some kind of prehistoric insect.
I might not have even mentioned it, but since it was brought up--it is hard to tell the scale here, and while this is a real cool subject and very well presented, i cant help but think with the sky so dramatic here this might have worked better with some point of reference, to give the subject a scale. Just a thought. Great to see you posting again, Alex, hope to see more from you this winter. :wavey:
