This is a pretty scene I've shot in the fall with golden leaves on the trees. This is a stark contrast on an overcast winter day, so I thought I'd turn it into B&W. Did a version with about 1/5 cropped from top, but think this may work best.

D60, ISO-100, 1/160th, f-6.3, 28mm, captured/processed RAW. Larger posted, thanks for looking and any C&C.

Bill, nice job! It's a compelling scene to work with and the B&W conversion does it justice.

Gorgeous, Bill! The larger version is awesome. The B&W
convesion is excellent. I like the way in which you've com
posed the stone fence diagonally. I'm wondering what the
image would look like if you could clone out the sign post.
Just a thought.

Thanks Robert, wasn't sure about the sign post--kind of feel like it adds something, as there is no name, just an obscure number on it. Just IMO though. :toast:

I like this without the crop you mention, its very nice as a black and white and its quite beckoning. If it were mine I might try taking the hole in the snow out, behind the empty sign in the middle left side of the photograph. But maybe not, nice photograph though.

Everything comes together just right for me except for the right tree blocking the road. The quiet atmosphere is making the shot imo. Nice one, Bill!
