As it continues to snow in NH, the tallest rose will soon be buried.

Canon 50D, Canon EF 135/2L with Canon 1.4 TC, remote release, Bogen 3221/RRS ballhead, ISO 100, f/8 at 1/30th, +1 EV.

Edit - this is full frame, no crop. I'm thinking a bit off the bottom may look better.

Jim: I think the space on the bottom works pretty well. If you crop some there then the rose is going to end up more centered in the frame and I like its placement as is. Nice find and a good solid capture IMO. Also makes me like Texas even more. >=))>

I don't know, I like it on the third here. Man, this really tells a story, too. So simple, so effective! You guys back east have had a winter to remember for sure.

Jim I like the detail in the snow just enough for my taste. I also like the bit of warmth in the image. Nicely crafted image. :toast:

I like space Jim and this works for me with the rose in the power point as posted. Neat image. Makes me think of a year I spent in Rochester NY.

Very cool, no pun intended, I think the comp. is great just as is, I wouldn't crop it as the long bottom helps infer great depth of snow. Nice job Jim.

The thumbnail pulled me in for a look! I think your first instinct is correct that you don't need so much bottom where there is no texture...Yet I agree with others this is pleasurable as posted.

I think without the space at the bottom it loses it's minimalist feels that it expresses so well. Very nice details also. :toast:

I have to agree with the others, that I like this as posted. The bottom adds to the understanding that the snow is really deep.

The flower seems to dance, Jim; may be for the cold. I love the placement of the subject in the frame, just where it is.
Take care.
