ISO 2000

Tried out my new camera on Friday. But there were some very heavy, dark clouds that morning, which of course lessened the light values. So I went to ISO 2000 for this Wood Stork that flew past me. It filled the frame.

Unfortunately I clipped off its toe. That meant adding an inch of canvas to the right side and then I got a toe from another image.

Did not use any noise reduction.

Very nice Wayne. No noise to really speak of, so ISO 2000 looks like a good option, at least at FF or close to it. Your added canvas and toe work look very good. Nice comp, bird position, and habitat. Well done.

Hi Wayne, we had the same idea ! Check the info of my last post...we'll excange opinion on that !
My first impression is that you can really increase the ISO in a very High way.
Very great shot this one.

Wayne,

This is far beyone my level. With 2000 ISOs my shots look like they are taken in a blizzard. I love the detail and focus of this picture. With F 5.6 you were able to get everything clear with only a slight wingtip blur. The post processing is simply amazing.

Interesting looking bird, Wayne. Very fine BIF capture. Nice toe graft too. I like the detail everywhere in the bird Maybe those two reeds on the LHS in front of the bird would be better not there. Also, I might be tempted to make it a two tone bg instead of three tone by removing the strip of sky visible at the top. I like the comp though so instead of cropping it would be an opportunity to use content aware scaling to replace it.... Just nits. Fine as posted too. :toast:

Really niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, great shot at high iso, looks like it could be iso 200 and the photo shop job is really great, if I tried that the clipped off toe would have looked like distorted apendage at best. :toast:

Terrific flight shot Wayne. I love that he is flying low enough so that the grasses are included in the image.

Excellent image quality for ISO 2000. I am very impressed. Nice job with the toe repair. Very nice wing position. In a perfect world, maybe a little more room in front of the stork, but a great image as posted.

Grea job of touching up the toe in this Wayne! That D3s sure handles the high ISO awesome. The detial in this is superb and I am fine with the roonm considering the challenge you had with even fitting this in the frame. Nice work!

Just amazing IQ for ISO 2000 Wayne. Your PP work is incredible as well, I would never have detected an attached toe. :toast:
