Lost Lake Light

I'm not sure if this image is my best or my favorite from last year but it definitely has some dramatic light. I was walking along the Lost Lake trail along Hamlin Lake at Ludington State Park on a very still morning in mid-October and when the first light of the day hit the woodlands in front of me. Comments welcome as always.

The early morning golden light has lit up the trees wonderfully Brian. Nice sky too.

Gary.

Brian - I love first light autumn shots. I like they transition from the shadowed areas and greens in the lower right as the lines bend along the shoreline to the brilliant oranges/reds central.

Nice image Brian, great light on the shoreline and the addition of the trees in the foreground helps add a feeling of depth to the photograph. :toast:

The Lost Lake Trail is an excellent place to find good photo ops, Brian. I'm glad you were able to take advantage of the early light here...very nice!!

Nicely done. You really caught the light. I like the contrast between the center and the left.

If it's not your best, Brian, I'd certainly like to see whatever you've got that's better....because this is outstanding, IMO. The spotlighting is captivating and the composition is excellent.

This is really pretty, Brian. It is just a beautiful fall scene and has a wonderful feel. The light is fantastic as is the reflected color. Very nice clouds too. Well done!
