Hawfinch.
Some won't like the crop but I thought I,d try it as it seemed to show the snow off better.
Quite a crop off a horizontal.
Same set up as previous ones.Bedroom window.
D200 Sigma 50-500
125th @ f7.1 500ISO
levels , CZM
Not seen it in the garden for about 10 days now when this was taken.
Cheers

Lovely colors with the bird and the lichens on the perch then the contrast of the snow. I like how you've framed it but I might take a sliver off the bottom.

I love the crop and the scene is terrific. I am not familiar with the bird which is very interesting.

A busy scene, and a cool little bird, John. I like Sally's suggestion. I think if you lower the bird, it will show him off even more. I would suggest about an inch crop from the bottom.

Surprisingly the limb at the top, even though it's large seems to help frame the bird nicely.

Well captured.

That's a beautiful bird. Such lovely warm colors on a snowy day. The contrast of snow and golden brown does make this a better picture - so I'd say the square crop is fine. Exposure seems on target and the bit of spotlight on the front of the birds face adds to the shot. I'm likin' the lichen too. : ).
