Very nice work on this little guy, Sandy. I like the exposure on the bird and the colors in the background. If it were mine, I either crop out of the cut off branch stem or clone it out.

Excellent detail in the Downy, Sandy and that's a gorgeous bg. I don't mind the birch being a bit oof, though I can see why you'd prefer that it be crisp. :toast:

Nicely captured, Sandy. Looks as though you're on a vertical kick these days. Had you considered getting rid of the tree knot on the bottom and the branch on the top. They're both a little distracting and this is a great bird capture.

Very nice shot, Sandy. I like the composition and the perfect exposure of the blacks on the bird.

It lacks some of the pizzaz of most of your photos but I would still say much better than "decent". You did the job on the exposure, the bg is very nice and it has good detail.

Nice image. I've photographed several recently. They are deceptively hard to image well and none of mine have made the cut-this one certainly deserves the post. Well done.

The bill looks huge and there are no black spots on the white tail feathers. Sure this is a Downy? I would have guessed Hairy. Whatever it is, it's a fine shot.

Thanks!

Good head angle background colours, exposure is spot-on and very sharp.

Okay, now, this is getting ridiculous. Image after image with no nits. I like the focus on the bird/birch; everything seems to blend very nicely without distracting from the bird or looking too blurry. Nice work, Sandy.

Much more than "decent" Sandy. Beautiful detail, pleasing comp and nice fall colors in the background. Good job just catching him on the right side of the tree! :toast:
