This guy was captured on the grounds of the Punta Cana Resort enjoying the warm winter weather of the Dominican Republic.

Thanks for looking, CC's always appreciated.

Hi Chuck,

So glad you included a larger photo of this Mockingbird.

My first reaction as I looked at him was that this would make a handsome B&W but I do like the OOF flowers in the background. They provide a wonderful feeling of spring.

My second thought was to clone the big limb on the left and I think that if you crop from the left and leave a small portion of the tree in the frame, you will be pleasantly surprised. I partial limb on the left and the bigger one where the bird is perched will frame the bird nicely, and be less intrusive.

Ciao ;^)

Carol

We sure can't pick where our birds alight and in this case, the limb is sure large.

I think this is a great example of how you don't need a frame-filling, bird-on-a-stick photo to have a very nice avian photo. This works very well. I like the two tree trunks, the bird, and the perfectly OOF flowers in the background. Only thing I might do is maybe trim a tad more off the left edge.

I like the background you have here. The pink and green is very appealing. Like the split legs and eye contact. Agree with a little trim on the left to get him a little more out of the center. Nice job.

I agree with a trim from the left. I love the birds pose, almost like a tour guide showing off the flowers behind. A very nice image.

I love this image, and I wish to cast my vote for no trim. It's an unusual image because it includes not just the mandatory perch, but an added, "bonus" limb as well. It makes you look twice. The background colors are magnificent. The bird is nice and sharp and is striking a perfect post. I wouldn't touch a thing!

Love the composition Charles, the thumbnail doesn't do it justice. Beautiful background colors work very well with the otherwise less than flashy subject. The tree trunks are nicely arranged in your frame. Very cool.

Great as posted! If you trim -do not trim much-IMO.
