Red Tailed Hawk in the first light of the morning. Shot from car window stretched out across the front seat to get to the passenger side - very uncomfortable , but worth the effort.

Canon 7D
600 MM
1/200 @ f 5.6
ISO 400
Manual Exp., Spot Metered

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated

Beautiful Randy! That warm morning light is just fantastic, as is the pose and head turn of the bird. :toast:

This is great Randy! Great warm light :) I also like the fact that you do not have any background or foreground distractions, a simple branch, nice. I posted a Bald Eagle image on Jan 01, 2011, and being in a rain forest it is hard to get a good background.

Beautiful Randy. Light is great and well captured. Great perch and comp. Aren't you enjoying the "hawk on every corner thing" going on in Houston right now?

Sweet bird Randy. We just don't see many of these here in my part of FL. Nice light, tack sharp, and good comp. Well done.

excellent, Randy. light and comp are both great. if you can do so safely, (be sure the brake is set!) try getting all the way over into the other seat--much easier to handle the big lens if you're not contorted!
