Another new species for me. Found one little flock of these guys in the eastern unit of Saguaro National Park, a little after dawn. Wouldn't come out of cover, but I was glad to get a clean look in habitat.

Canon 50D, 400 5.6L, ISO 320, 1/200, f6.3.

Very nice on a seldom seen or photographed species. Next time you visit AZ I think I'll follow you around!

Excellent detail and lighting on this handsome bird. The thick branch in front of this wing isn't ideal but the rest of the habitat is attractive. :toast:

Nice shot Terry, wonderful detail and well exposed. I like the slight head turn and the habitat setting. As already stated, I wish the larger diagonal branch wasn't there, but it's definitely not a killer.

Nice sharp image on this bird. I like what you have achieved with the DOF. Nice blend of in and OOF limbs surrounding the bird.

Great detail and color, Terry. However, I think the main accomplishment here is how you managed to focus our attention on the bird despite the complex bg. Fine job. :toast:

cool, Terry--this is a bird I really like a lot. the branch doesn't bother me at all--this is a nice habitat shot with great details. I have these guys about 15 miles from home during the spring and summer and they are at the top of my list when they get back.
