Ice needles

Sometimes it takes really bad weather to make you look down at the small, but amazing details that nature can offer you. As we headed back from the mountains, we had to deal with strong winds and fog (pretty weird to see both in the same place), but I just had to stop at this and take a few shots. Hope you like it and comments are appreciated.

Very neat shot Dorin. Love the mixture of the monochromatic looking ice next to the green moss/lichen. Good eye!

Wildly interesting photo, Dorin. I've seen this many times but never gotten such a nice angle on it. There must be a hundred pleasing crop options in here too.

This is awesome. Truly an abstract picture. I have no idea what I am looking at but I love it. Is it lichen and rock or ice? Cheers

Whoa, this is trippy! I love how the color pops against the monochrome of the rock and ice! :toast:

I still don't know what I'm looking at or even it's size, but it looks great. The greens seem to be floating. on the monochrome background.

Very cool shot (pun intended). After reading the comments, I kept going back to it to get another look. I didn't know which side was up, but I really think that what kept drawing me back to it. Good work.

Dorin - Looks like hoar frost that we often see in NH's White Mountains. Even the glowing green lichen looks the same. Reminds me of the plugs of fir I can pull off my dog in the spring whe she lost her winter coat. Nice capture.
