Here is another image from my solo trip to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park in British Columbia. I was there back-country camping for 7 days during mid September 2010. I was fortunate to be there for the 1st and 2nd snow fall of the season. This sunrise image was taken after an overnight storm that changed from torrential rain to heavy snow! This image was taken in a meadow just above Lake Magog. I have only processed this image in Lightroom, so comments are welcome

Thank you for the comments from my last post "Sky Fire".

Beautiful Image James. I wouldn't mind seeing the snow a little more blue/less magenta but thats just a personal pref.

Great shot.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Jeremy, I find the Blue/magenta in check on my "main" monitor, but how it looks on different monitors is hard to compensate for. I do calibrate my 2 monitors, but they still look a bit different since one of them is florescent back lit. Thanks again

Hey James, I just checked this out again at home on my calibrated monitor, looks much better/less magenta here.

Congrats on a great image.

Looks like the Matterhorn of Canada! Fascinating how the peak stands out from the snow covered scene, illuminated by the early light. I like how you composed the bottom half. The arrangement of the trees works really well!

Just a delight James. The colours are great, the compostion really puts you in the shot and the light is sublime. One day I will get out there to take photo's, we drove out to B.C in the fall but never had time for photography, it absolutely killed me. Cheers

James - Normally, I might not have centered the peak but I think it works here with the notch in the mountain. I'll have to check your other post, wondering if you got a tight shot of the lit peak. Looks like a must visit. Congrats, Harry and a Happ NY.

James - FYI , I was on your web site and this image is less magenta there. Maybe a different profile? Both look very cooll, as did your other shots from this area.

Beautiful, James! Nice light on a stunning scene. Well composed too, as the trees and mountains frame the peak perfectly.

Thanks for all the comments  Harry, I am not sure why this image on my website would be different for you to view, they are the same file, just slightly different sizes. It is considered the Matterhorn of Canada, I highly recommend going there. As a back-country/tour guide here in Whistler BC, I may offer guided tours in Assiniboine PP in the future

In regards to the light that morning, I have several other photo's that were from different directions, where you can see the color of the sky to the west where the sun was rising, it was amazing, The snow covered trees did take on this purple/magenta glow! The fog that was present in the Assiniboine Valley was also a bonus!

Here is the image I took looking in the opposite direction towards the sunrise. I realized later on that the reflected mountain was not completely visible in the lake reflection below :frown:

Don't know how I missed this the first time??!! This is a beautiful and majestic scene. The magenta on the snow doesn't bug me on bit, as you can see faint glimpses of this hue in the clouds and on the peak. Well shot and presented here James!
