Together, no matter what

Hello, everybody!
Winter is in full effect in my country, so last weekend I headed to the first mountain I ever hiked, one that holds a special meaning for me, one that allowed me to photograph it on many occasions and from many different perspectives, but also one that sent me a clear message this time after an avalanche took place a few meters in front of me.
After the sunrise, me and my friend decided to scout this area in hope for some interesting shapes in the snow. The wind was blowing quite hard so I decided to take advantage of this and do some shots with the blowing snow that I visualized for a long time. Lucky enough, I found these two young trees so I decided to wait for the right gust which, given the conditions, showed up quickly. I like how this came up, but I'm waiting for some honest opinions here.
That being said, I wish you a Merry Christmas with the loved ones!

Merry Christmas to you as well, Dorin. Wonderfully stark image here, love the texture in the snow and the harshness with the blowing snow. The two trees tell a nice story. :toast:

This is great, Dorin! I love the coarse texture and the blowing snow. And the two tree tops are perfectly placed. The snow looks a little too gray on my monitor, especially the part in upper left. I'd try to brighten it if that can be done without losing too much highlight detail

I like how this captures the texture of the blowing snow and the ground patterns. It looks cold and unforgiving, but that is balanced by the inclusion of the trees. Well done!
Merry Christmas!

Dorin,

This is SPECTACULAR! I LOVE this! Perhaps my favorite image of anything posted in recent days.

Not only is this technically excellent, but the story this captures is truly amazing. You know the old saying, a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, even without your words the story is clear and powerful. I just love it and don't know what else to say. Congrats!

Thank you so much for the comments, guys. I'm away at my parents now with very limited access to internet, but I'll check the image again once I get home and post more comments (sorry about that). Stan, it took me by surprise and I didn't have enough time to react. Erik, I think it was somewhere around 1/1000.

Your comp is excellent Dorin, I love the texture and detail in the snow, the falling snow and tree tops poking up over the hill. Really great shot.

Gary.
