Yellow Mountains (2)

This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen in Yellow Mountains. As the sun was quite strong and I wanted to capture the actual scene I saw, this picture was a result of blending from two successive shots. Also, a Singh Ray 3-stop reserve GND and a 2-stop GND (soft) were used to balance the light around the horizontal line.

A timeless and beautiful scene. I like the subtle layers of the receding peaks.

This is such and amazing place, I have always wanted to go here. More so now after seeing this photo. Amazing sky and good use of the GNDs.

Nice work capturing this the way you saw it, Yan. I really like it. Beautiful colors and great depth. Like others I like the layers of the receding mountains here.

Yan,

Not to be too repetitive, but great layering here. The mountains seem to go on forever. The sky is beautiful and I really like the diagonal of the clouds which also help in pulling the viewer in to the scene, following the ridges deeper and deeper in to the scene.

May I'm seeing things, but is there some haloing going on in the LLC? In an attempt to lighten and bring out more detail there? Maybe someone else notices this?

Otherwise, a beautifully captured sunset.

Very nicely done. Excellent blend. I could see cropping some of the sky. THe dark, vibrant blue seems a little harsh for the other elements in the scene.

Dear folks,

Thanks very much for your comments and encouragements. Some details from left-side mountains were the result of blending, otherwise, it would be too dark. This was also my very first experiment of blending images to reveal certain degree of details.
