Volcano Oasis

Taken in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. I found this scene in the transition zone between the rain forest and the barren lava fields. The orange / white contrasts of the grass really caught my eye.

Thanks for the feedback!

Beautiful, subtle colours. A wonderful intimate scene.

This has some really nice color. I love those grasses with the green and silver/blue mixed in with the orange. It is a very nice comp as you have it, but I think I would like it even better without the leaning foreground tree (just my feeling). That seems to take away a bit of the nice flow this has. Still, very nice Justin, and I enjoy looking at this. Wonderful colors!

The color in the vegetation is almost unreal. I love the mix of colors and delicate detail. Compositionally, I kinda wish the one tree in the foreground was a bit farther to the side.

Justin,

What, no lava? But I guess it's pretty apparent that the lava-rich soils are good for the plant life on the islands. Not only are the colors great, but I really like how they are all intermixed; kind of encouraging the eye to wander through the image to enjoy the textures and details.

I think the comp is certainly good as presented, but can see the other points about perhaps getting that tree up front a little off center. The only thing I can suggest is a slight crop off the right. But that's minor.

Sure looks like a place I could spend some time buried under a dark cloth!

Repost based on crop suggestions. Stronger composition?

Second version better. Colors look more vivid here too.

Beautiful array of colors Justin. Nice comp for the layers of color, but I do agree with the tree being less centered.

Gorgeous image, Justin. The cropped version is an improvement in my opinion.

I have always been thrilled by your photography and look forward to seeing more.
