Helleborus intimate...

One of my favourite flowers, the Hellebore. Maybe it is because they flower so early, at a time you are always glad to see flowers appear. I bought this specimen last year and kept it on my balcony before planting it in the garden. The buds are already waiting under a layer of snow (20 cm!) to appear in February or March depending on the weather.

Happy holidays to all of you! :toast:

Ellen, wonderful POV. I really like the DOF choice. The only nit would be to also have the tips of the stamens also in focus. But, that is a small nit.

Happy holidays to you also. Love your perspective on this image. Detail is in the right places while still maintaining the flower's overall beauty. Well done.

What a cool looking flower, Ellen. Your DOF selection has created some subtle gradations of color in the BG. Beautifully done.

Ellen:
Good choice of DOF allowing the outlines of the flowers to just come through. Light the color palette. Well done.

Interesting image. the one thing that would add to the image would be a little more dof.

I like the earthiness of this Ellen. I agree with Bob's comment about the tips of the stamens but really nice as presented.

Ellen: Nice selective focus and a fine color palette. May 2011 bring you great subjects and even better light. >=))>

A lovely flower indeed, which you have captured in a nice composition with soft flowers and the lovely DOF, which is fine to me as it is... :toast:
