I dug out a small hole in the snow, put some seed in the bottom and then waited for the pigeon to raise his head.Taken in my garden, using the car as a hide.

Clever. I like just the head amongst all the white. Nice details in the face and a very cool eye.

Very cool (no pun intended) At first I thought it was a Photo Art creation. The high key look of this is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Really neat Phil! Great idea, well executed! Did you do any digital processing to get the boundary between bird and snow? Just wondering since everything except the bird is (to the eye) pure white.

I would show this picture to anyone who wants to debate if photography is art -- this is drop dead gorgeous

Thanks very much for your kind comments everyone.
Terry:The line between bird and snow is purely down to the out of focus snow in the foreground/shallow depth of field.

Very cool, Phil; I thought this was processed (i.e. photo art). Very interesting and unique capture.

I assumed this was "created" in Photoshop until I read the explanation. Very artistic, would make a wonderful print or card. Unique photo!
