Yosemite Meadows

This photo was taken last winter in Yosemite meadows with npn members Lon, Harley, and Jason. On clear cold mornings in this area, the meadows usually have some mist and hoar frost on the trees. Staying warm and finding a composition is always fun. Thanks for looking.
C&C always welcome.

It does look frigid. That foreground tree is a very striking element. While I like the whole scene and the various layers of elements, I would mind seeing a tighter comp to emphasize the foreground tree.

That's a great find Kyle. The photo has all the ingredients for a lovely winter image. Well done. Cheers

Really pretty scene, Kyle. I definitely like this one. Very unusual composition that works well.

I absolutely love that frosty tree and the lower half of the image. It feels very delicate, cold, and "wintery". Is that a word? It's the upper half that is warmer and the more contrasty background that is disrupting the feel in this. Maybe a crop to a pano would work, or as Tony mentioned a tigher comp?

Thanks for the comments, It really helps.
Tony and Jason, I worked this scene all morning and came up with a few compositions, I think you will like the ones with a tighter crop on the tree. I'll post one in a few days. Thanks!

I'm really liking this. Kyle! The frosted treeline in back is especially nice. Beautiful stuff!

Wonderful, Kyle. I definitely dig the frosty look of this one and the classical off-center-composition. Well done.

I didn't think I would like this very much from the thumbnail, but this is gorgeous! The barren treeline in the BG is great, as are the frigid looking mountains in the more distant BG. The only thing bothering me is that the treetops of the evergreens are cut off. Nice work Kyle.

Kyle,

This is beautiful! Was this the same morning I slipped on the ice landing flat on my back? I remember it well.

The little hint of fog and the frost covered trees are wonderful. To Bill's comment, I don't mind the tree tops being cut off, but I would consider cropping even more off the top to remove the small patch of sky in the URC. Not a big deal though. A beautiful capture.
