Froma series of Storm shots I did at the beach.

I think this may be categorized as minimalist. Maybe?

On the fun side I didn´t notice I was under a gigantic cloud until I saw the photo in the camera LCD, it was a pitch-black night.

Thanks for looking!
Luis

Striking (pun intended) image ! Not sure about it being "minimalist", though. Lots of good compositional elements here.

Certainly one of the most amazing lightning shots I've ever seen. Makes me feel like being right inside the storm which apparently you were. Not sure whether I would call that courageous or careless but this is great work just the same. My only suggestion would be to play around with the white balance as this setting seems a little too warm.

Here is a a cooler version (in terms of color) that I like a little better than the original. (thanks Robert)
Barry:
5DII, 17-40L, ISO400, prefocused to infinity, 30s exposure.

I much prefer the warmer WB, it gives better warm-cool contrast. Call me weird, but i even like this with the bolt completely cropped out to the side--makes it extra strange and mysterious

I like both versions. The correct one is the one that shows what it was like that night.
Powerful image.

Thanks Stan, Wayne.
The original version is more similar to what I remember from that night, but the cooler WB version looks better so I´m between both versions.
