Some Waxwings appeared. Unfortunately it was during my lunch hour and I only had basic equipment with me. They were also at the top of a very high Rowan tree. Still my first sighting this year. There were 7 in all. Think I will take some better equipment to work tomorrow, although knowing my luck they will have scarpered  This was the best I could get.

I don't know what I have done with the larger image. Think I have messed up. My copyright notice still set at 12 font has come out absolutely huge

The comp is very nice .
Unfortunately ,this one isn't up to normal Maggie standards and the optics have let you down big time ... Get back out there girl with the proper gear and show em Maggie power.....

As Mark has said, Maggie, this is not up to your usual standard. However, given the circumstances it is not a bad first effort. Certainly you have done better than me. There is a flock of over a thousand in East Kent at present, I have managed to miss them entirely so far.

Good luck, I hope they are still around at lunchtime.

Hi Maggie,

You did well with the gear you had.

They can become very skittish and elusive when they want!

Good luck with the next ones.

Must have been a great experience, Maggie and given the circumstances, a nice and well composed shot. I hope you'll get another chance. :wavey:

Well done with what equipment you had with you Maggie, I like your composition.
Hopefully they'll still be there tomorrow and you'll be able to get a sharper shot.
Go on, tell the truth, you just wanted to see your name in big letters
Well done.

Geoff.

Thanks folks. Mark and David you are quite right my equipment was not up to the job. Toda the little blighters were in a small tree right next to where I parked my car this morning but I hadn't taken any gear with me as it was raining and dreadful light. Will try again tomorrow. If not at the weekend.

Geoff you are right I would love to see my name in big letters

Like the shape of the waxwing and as stated the composition is excellent. The best and strongest compositions always show themselves well in thumbnail size. :toast:
