A great day up in the Cairngorms. It was cold as you can see but working with these birds was warming. Hope to go back some day.

That's brilliant - especially large. The snow blasting past makes the image - you certainly picked a good time to be up there for winter images!

Hi Edwin,
A terrific image of an Iconic bird of the high Corries.
Great composition and a perfect exposure. The freezing atmosphere you have captured certainly makes the image.
My kind of image!

Great image, Edwin, and whether working with the birds was warming or not I bet you suffered some discomfort to get this shot. It would also work well as a panoramic shot, cut off just above the blasting snow.

That is fantastic. It is the blowing snow that really lifts the image too a higher level.

Fantastic! You've capture everything that typifies the bird. By chance I was there a couple of days ago (in the Ptarmigan restaurant ) I had a very brief look for them, but couldn't see a thing for the horizontal ice blowing. I feel the pain you must have suffered!
