Aurora Colorado. This photo was taken at a small man made lake inside the Gateway Condo Complex-Lakecrest. On 40th Ave at Kittredge. Interesting that THOUSANDS of geese, gulls and ducks have made this their home. Worth a trip if you are in the area. It was liquid 2 days ago, but a large area was covered in ice this morning.

I found this location by reading a local Denver birding blog-and going where he reported the most birds. It happened to be just across the street from my hotel. We went skiing in Breckenridge.

D3 ISO 400. 70-200/2.8 with 2x tc at 400mm. f7.1 1/1000 -0.7ev. About 40% of FF.

Looks like a trick photo, but the perfect reflection was in the ice.

Wow. What a great reflection. In the larger version, it appears that the reflection is sharper than the "real" bird. Still very nice.

That's a cool photo! It needs a bit of CW rotation, which is very easy to do.

Killer reflection and a nice pose. The cropping certainly stripped out some detail here and I'd try sharpening a little more.

The subtle shading of the blue ice really helps "ground" it -
excellent!

It's a great reflection and the blues are a nice BG. I agree with the CW rotation comment as well as another round of sharpening. Neat photo.
