Spiny-cheeked Honeyeeater photographed on a native pine stag in central New South Wales.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4x, tripod, ISO400, f/10, 1/640, full frame vertical crop. I cloned out a distracting black mark on the trunk just in front of the head.

Simon, what an awesome, maybe a bit scary, looking bird. Love the blue eye. Rivets me to the face of this bird. Nice detail for sure.

I love that blue eye and pinkish bill. I agree with Ron that this is a somewhat intimidating looking bird. Excellent details and pose. Nice perch.

You Aussie's seem to have a never ending treasure chest of birds. Love the splash of color and the simple composition... the OOF branch at the top is a bit distracting.

What an interesting looking bird with an interesting name to go along. Good detail and look on the larger version, way to go.
