Key Deer

I spent last March helping out a ministry in the Florida Keys. We stayed in a house on Big Pine Key with the Key Deer National Wildlife Refuge. A full grown Key Deer is no bigger the a good sized Lab. They are very habituated to people. This is good for photographers, but bad for the deer because way to many of them are killed each year by cars. Many times we saw them walking down the middle of the streets.

Seeing that the deer are habituated to people, you could have, maybe, got down lower to get a better perspective on this handsome specimen?

Nice color and I like the surrounding vegetation. Would like to see a little lower angle.

You nailed the exposure on this one, Richard. Being habituated, I bet these deer give some great photo opportunities.

Interesting looking deer. Kind of a miniature mule deer with smaller ears. I like his placement amongst the palm leaf and plants on the left.

Nice stance. Looks like a mini buck. Good teches, Richard, and I also like the bg foilage, esp that palm frond.
