I just got done reprocessing this one from a while back. Was a fun backpacking trip. I had planned to shoot from somewhere else but when i stumbled across this scene my mind was quickly changed.

Edit: Sorry for the confusion on the animals, I was just sort of curious if people would notice them, they are a mother moose and a calf, not horses. They show up and are presented much nicer in a higher res file.

This is a beautiful location, and the scene is absolutely gorgeous. It seems to lack contrast overall - I'd like to see that white snow pop, and some dark shadows. The composition is excellent... that little peak sticking out on the right is a minor distraction, but the image seems balanced otherwise The horses (they are horses, right?) are a neat little detail, too.

Nice work!

You've captured another beautiful landscape here, Jeremy. The light here is beautiful and it conveys a serene feel.

I remember this one from an RMNP post?

Watch out for the sloping tree line in the mid ground. It darkens in color as you go up the mountain. This probably happened due to dodging/processing the trees in the foreground. Also care on the tips of some of those foreground trees, I believe they need uniform luminosity which might require dodging them at 100% magnification while watching out for the "splash"area that lightens up around them as you dodge. I might crop the right hand side a tad because of the notch near the edge.

The moose is placed well. The composition is nice.

fantastic. really like the blotchy snow on the slope and the control of light here to pull this out of the shadows. Nicely done all around.

Thanks for the processing tips they are much appreciated.
I'm still working on getting my web version to look correct, I've done quite a bit of reading but still can't get things on here looking quite like they do in PS.

Varina, thats a Mother moose and her calf, I thought I'd see if anyone noticed them.

Stunning place to have a camp. Is that your site there? Really nice light on the peaks, but maybe a little contrast needed in the foreground.???

Love this shot Jeremy. The moose puts it over the top. Only thing I can see to improve it is cropping off the point on the upper right. Well done. Your processing looks good with this one and the last of Medicine Mountain which I really, really like. Love this area of the Beartooths.

Oh wow, knowing that that's a moose and baby elevates this to a whole new level. Amazing! Wish I could see them better, but I guess that's where a big print would come in  I think a slight crop off the right would help by removing that extra peak.

Lovely scene Jeremy, and the addition of the animals is a sweet bonus. Really nice light and colors here. I agree a little more contrast in the fg might be nice, and I would maybe touch up around that center tree that appears to have been dodged. Minor nits though, very nice capture.

Hi Jeremy,

I echo Dean's and Floris's comments. The moose really adds a lot to this scene. A slight crop on the right side would help. I hope all is well.

I agree with the crop suggestion and could see a bit more contrast. Overall an outstanding scene! :toast:

Jeremy,

What a beautiful mountain landscape and what a great nature story you've come upon and captured. Sure, the critters(is a moose a critter?) are small, but they add so much to the scene. I would agree with a slight crop on the left and also some overall contrast. This will be a killer image.

The mother moose and calf in the foreground takes this far beyond an already very nice mountain landscape. Maybe some added contrast would benefit this one. Great work here! Lot's of emotion with the wildlife in the shot.

A gorgeous scene, and the moose really send it over the top. It does seem to lack contrast somewhat, but that's a easy fix. Other than that, this is just wonderful.

I really like the light on the mountain. And how nice for you that the moose just layed down in a perfect spot. I agree with Varina that the shadows could use a little punch.
