Area 52

I battled deep sand, razor sharp rocks and reptilian shape shifters to get to this little know government base deep in the red rock desert of the American Southwest. Ran into Bob Lazar under an alcove, and had martinis before heading off to Groom Lake in a custom built UFO supplied by the DOE....

Love the strong graphic curve in the foreground Joseph, really pulls me into the scene.

That swirl makes a very impressive foreground. Also, the blues tones in the clouds nicely contrast the rich red sandstone. How on earth did you avoid getting a tripod leg shadow into this shot?

Hi Jospeh!
That's a serious question mark!
Composition, color, sharpness, everything brilliant to me.
A great shot!

One of the best I've seen from this area for the reasons that Ben noted.

Man, that's some crazy curvature! I like it! This is nicely composed, and I really like the warm/cool contrast between the sky and the rock. The sky does look a little heavy in cyan, to me, 'course then, maybe I'm just gettin' old.

Nice work, Joseph,

Really super shot...can be a study of how directional light creates awesome mood for certain scenes. Only nit that I have is that the sky/cloud color looks a bit unnatural blue - but that's very minor - the color goes very well with the rest of the scene though

If visual memory serves me well, these colors are spot on. Love the composition, foreground interest, texture, and moody cyan sky!

I was just there! This is a killer comp man. We got so freaking lost that I rolled in with about 10 minutes of light left and I just ran around like a total moron. Really nice find!

What a cool curve! The distant counterpoint of the sandstone blob really adds a lot too.

Beautiful photo, great description--does Bob like his martinis dry??

Very nicely composed! The foreground is very strong, and the contrasting tones of the clouds and rock add to the drama. I'm wondering though if it would have been possible to frame this as effectively without having cut off the red curve at the bottom?

Wow! Sounds like an exciting trip! Great image. I really like the subtle lines in the sky to compliment the lines in the rock. Wonderul colors also. :toast:

A good, original composition from what is fast becoming another 'honey-pot' location.

The ? swirl makes for a strong foreground and leads into the image. Very nice composition and image from WP. Looks a little oversaturated for my taste.

Great composition. The overcast blue sky in the distance and warmth in the foreground are just perfect for this.

Joseph,

It's an upside down question mark! What a great find and what a superb crafting of this scene; I just love how you included the sky and far formation in your comp. Well done!
