Sustaining Life

I found this leaf suspended in animation. What really appealed to me other than lingering hoar frost was the radiating lines to the leaf. Its like the ice was somehow still giving life to it.
A representation of art on ice for me.

Great work from everybody as well

Jeez buddy, this is amazing. From the thumbnail I thought it looked like doves flaring out from the center. I think I'd like it a bit lighter/brighter, just a smidge. Other than that, very very nice.

Great find! Appears to me like the frost will be sucked into the leaf hole. The blue cast works perfectly.

Beautiful patterns Anthony, very graphic image. My only nit might be the cut off frost on the middle/bottom of the frame, I would be tempted to clone that out. Really looks like doves flying.. Great eye for this one!

I love those little ice flowers, and with the cracks and trapped leaf you've really got some depth - something that's always hard to do in roughly 2D abstracts/intimates.

Awesome work. Love the lingering frost and the lines in the ice, as well as the blue tones. Almost makes me wish it was as cold where I live.

Well done Anthony! The curving lines and flecks of ice really give this one some 3 dimensional depth. Awesome work!

Great form and texture! I'd only suggest perhaps cloning out the few dark specks in the URHC.

I might not have noticed the leaf if you hadn't mentioned it. I was too busy enjoying the lines and the frost. Nicely done all around.

Graceful flow to the lines and I like how they all join together in the center. The ice crystals add a dainty touch of class to an already stunning image. Great capture!

Anthony,

Leaf? what leaf? The hoar frost, ice and lines all trump the leaf! But in all fairness, the leaf actually does anchor the scene because it seems all the lines emanate from it.

This is outstanding. My biggest and only complaint is that you didn't provide a larger view!

Great find, wonderful capture.

You are so lucky to have opportunities like this close by. I have to drive a couple/ few hours to get anywhere close to something like this. The patterns are fantastic here, and the suspended leaf just adds another nice element to the picture. Really nice!
