Dogwood Paradise

The last shot I took on the way out of Yosemite a couple of weeks ago. It was raining hard and I used the open hatch of my suv for some protection. Gotta love rain for some extra saturation though!
I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. larger version included.

Thanks,
Chris

Gorgeous view Chris. I like how the red trunks stand out against the yellow leaves. The lighting I think, gives this a lot of depth. The smaller version seems to be suffering from compression, but the larger view is wonderful.

Beautiful! Color on an overcast, rainy day is delightful and you sure caught it here. Nice comp, too, for sure.

Chris,

I guess I will have to stop in this area next year. I keep passing it saying I'll stop but never do. You have convinced me to do otherwise. Fantastic composition.

I wouldnt say this is up with your better stuff, but it's pleasant enough, a nice chaotic mix of detail and color.

This is definitely a engaging forest scene Chris. The warm toned trunks look great within the scene on the right. Great color as well.

Nice work my friend

Hi Chris,
I like this. Forest pictures taken in the rain are some of my favorites. The larger view really shows this off much better. I enjoyed looking at it. Great color and nice work.

Chris,

This is beautiful! Small version is a little web crunchy, but the large version is outstanding! Looks like the area just before you hit the ranger kiosk exiting the park on 120?

No nits, but I can say that I'm really liking the composition because of the open space left-center. Really lets the viewer enter the image and explore all the autumn colors and detail. Great stuff.

Very well done, Chris. Lots of color and very well-ordered chaos.

This really needs to be seen large to be appreciated. Very nice comp, and richly saturated.

Really like the comp and light. Thumb reminded me of a Youssef Ismail image, and I see he likes it as well. Colors feel a bit "clumpy" on my monitor. Not sure how to define that except that there doesn't appear to be a real smooth gradation in the transition areas. Not sure what processing you used on this. Maybe it's just my monitor.

What a great show of colors, Chris! The trees help make a very cohesive composition.

Nice composition and color. It always surprises me how hard these "tree scenes" can be. I think you nailed this one!

This is one stunning image, Chris. The colors of the leaves and the bark of the trees are amazing. Love the composition; couldn't be better in my opinion. excellent work.
