Most "bridges" over creeks in the National Forests consist of a log cut flat on the top for walking and, if you are lucky, there is a crude handrail. Not so at Blanchard Springs in Arkansas! This was one of the coolest bridges I've ever seen on a trail in the woods. Got here in early November and was delighted to see that there was still a bit of color left. It was raining on the morning of this hike but what a great morning! Beautiful stream and colors and we had it all to ourselves for hours! Would like to hear what you think!

Canon 5D Mark II, 24-70 @ 24mm, f/22, 5 sec., ISO 200, tripod, polarizer, umbrella!

I like your comp., the curve of the bridge thru the image works well and there is still enough color here to make a fine scenic image. Well done. Ron :toast:

Crisp fall colors and a great comp Philip. Very cool looking bridge as you say.
You knew exactly where to stand, well done! :toast:

Phillip. Wonderful use of the bridge as a leading line. When I review others images, it seems like the thought I most often have is that the photo would look better to me if they cropped tighter. In this case, I think I would like the image better if the top right was cropped just above the brook. That would still leave some of the bright orange leaves in on the right, but it would "feel" more to me like walking into the photo.

I am light years behind you in my own composition and photography, so take it for what it is. I tend to like my own more "intimate" shots better than the broader views.

Otherwise, though, love the composition and the color and detail.

Well composed taking in the curvilinear bridge. The colors are magnificant.
For color variation I also like your inclusion of the deep orange leaves in the
upper left corner. Good DOF. Thanks for sharing, Philip.

Gorgeous autumn colours- you have made the best of the many leaves on the ground. I like the surves on this bridge. Interesting suggestion for a crop from the top, would emphasise the curves of the bridge more. This works for me as it is however.

Beautiful color Phillip. I like the S curves of the bridge and your diagonal presentation which lead the viewer through the beautiful autumn cloaked woods.

Beautiful color and an inviting pathway/bridge. The only thing wrong with this is that I wasn't there to see it in person!
