Nice view of this bird, fine perch, excellent background, Derrick. Obviously you caught this one in a "private moment". These birds must consider us the equivalent of paparazzi.

Funny Derrick, as soon as I saw this shot I said "timing is everything" then I saw your opening line. Very neat shot, the bird, perch and nice BG is nice all it's own, add in the behavior element and you've got an original. :toast:

A very common sight for me as well, as this seems to be the behavior of pretty much every raptor up here. You come up to them, they do this, and then fly off before you can get close enough for the shot! Except this time, you made it just in time!

Derrick,

Ron D. says I always gets shots like this and he is really shocked when I miss them. With raptors this is usually a sign that they are going to life off, so I get ready.

Lovely colors, funny action, beautiful bird & pose.

You have a nice image here Derrick. The sky color is very attractive and the minimalist perch runs at a good diagonal. They sure can generate some projectile elimination!

Derrick,
in this case I'll say "better out than in".
