Nikon D200, Nikon 80-200 AFS 2.8, 1/500sec @ f2.8. @200mm, handheld. ISO 800. Nigeria.

Captive bird. There were 4 on an estate that they would let out of very large pens/cages at times.

Any ideas to let this go more photo art are apprecieated. The hard black top right bugs me, but it has a cool feel.

Nicely composed, Bob. I would like to see a bit more contrast between the dark feathers and the darker background.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the TPN moderator do?

There's a lot of detail in my version. My concern here is the topnotch? the black area of the forehead that should be seen?

As for TPN moderator, probably similar to an NPN moderator- Heck, they started with the same Jim.

Got it. Perhaps a very minor bit of fill flash?

A very interesting photo due to the similarly colored bird vs BG. I notice a bit of noise in the lighter areas of the image, but that really doesn't bother me as it's the mood the photo creates that is so appealing. It would've been great to bring out a bit more of the forehead.
