I hope not all of you are tried of wood duck shots. But since I lost all my images this is all I have digitally to post for now, unless I go back into my slide archives?

This year I tried capturing more action and interaction shot of the woodys. I observed the males chasing other males quite often if they got to close to their partner. They were very protective of their females.
I like how this male woody is very observant and keeping a close eye on other males trying to walk off with his Honey.
Unfortunately the female is a little soft as I needed more depth of field. But the light was fairly nice. Nice to be back posting again. . C&C welcomed!!!.

Welcome back, Joe.
I like how the red eye comes up from the back of the female. The male seems to want to control the situation. The colors are beautiful. The head and the breast of the female are a bit soft, as you noticed, overall a well composed image. :toast:

A great shot Joe. I love the male behind the female and that great eye. I agree, maybe f/10 and a slower SS would have gotten the hen sharp throughout, but this is still a killer shot. Needs a bit of CW rotation? Not sure.

Joe, I too like the males eye peeking over the back of the female. I appreciate your low angle and the water colors. Agree about the slight softness of the female and I might consider a bit more room on the right.

Joe,

The water color is beautiful and I like that you got eye contact with both birds, I agree with you about the softness of the female's head and neck, a bit more dof may have gotten her as sharp as the male. I like your low angle.

I too love how you captured the male looking over the top of the female. Nice low angle.
