Morton Arboretum Lisle, IL. Oct 2010. I was interesting in repetitive pattern of the trunks and motif of the leafs.

Settings: Nikon D80, 11mm Tokina 11-16mm, f/3.5, 1/125sec , ISO200

C&C are welcome and appreciated.

I like the perspective on this with the verticals and canopy of leaves, along with the strong contrasts. Very nice image Jim

I like it! Cool perspective and I like the use of B&W here! Well done! :toast:

Nice monochromatic image. I always struggle with B&W and am always impressed with folks who "get it." I like the pattern and perspective.

The light coming through the trees is very nice here. It would be nice to see a bit more detail in the trunks. The comp is very dramatic.

I don't think I've seen this done and b&w before. It makes for a very striking photo.

Ah, the Morton Arboretum...a place I know quite well. (My Illinois base is 20-odd minutes away and as a member I spend a fair amount of time there).

I've shot this kind of image several times at the Arb, and have always converted to b/w. (Here's one such example.

I really like how you've composed this, managing to find trunks spaced so both can emanate from the lower corners of the frame. Dynamic and imposing imagery; well done.

Kerry,
I like your version. The snow on the trunk adds another visual interest
