A fiery sunrise over Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch, captured on my last shoot in Scotland.

It's the featured image in my latest blog article about my last days in Scotland.

’A Promise’

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, ISO 50, f22, 15 seconds, reverse GND filters, warming polarizer.

This is lovely Kah Kit, great contrast between the warm sunset and the cold water and the long ss gives it a dreamy feel. Good stuff! :toast: :toast:

Lovely shot Kah, I think that simplicity is often synonymous of beauty in photography and this is a perfect essay of my thought. :toast:

A very intimate moment it seems. I can see you taking in the splendor and thinking back on your shoot welcoming a new day. Great shot

This is wonderful Kah Kit - beautiful color transition in the water. The FG element really makes this for me.

I like the radiating warmth from the sun breaking through the surrounding cool blue. The position of the sun in the dip of the hills adds to this radiating feel. The fg grass seems perfectly positioned in the comp to my eye, but there seems to be some uneven lightening around the grass. It must have been a wonderful experience shooting around Scotland. I look forward to reading your blog. A beautiful shot, Kah.

Kah Kit,

This is one of those images and moments that makes one speechless. Certainly I would expect that as the photographer, but as a viewer, I'm speechless too.

Good thing you're a moderator so I don't have to toss this beauty in to the mix for the weekly pick! Images like this make this a wonderfully tough job!

This is neat, Kah Kit. I really like this. At some level, this image, this light, is somewhat generic. If you hadn't told me this was "Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch" I would have been hard pressed to name the location. It feels like many other places seen here on NPN. But this is all good. When we go places, I think there is a sense that we want to capture some type of defining image--one that reveals the place in the very best light. We sometimes forget that just being present for the light is really our goal wherever we happen to be. This is a fine image, but it's one that could only happen with a photographer tuned into the light as much as the place. Good job!
