With sunrise to my back, this was the view on this glorious morning on Inverness Beach, Nova Scotia, Canada...... Sometimes I find the color opposite sunrise more interesting and more beautiful.

Thanks for looking. Thanks for any comments and critiques.

My favorite place......

Canon 5DM2
Canon 16-35mm at 24mm
ISO100 0.7sec f/11
SR Color Enhancing Warming Polarizer + 2-Stop Reverse ND

I was there... I came.. I saw.. I didn't get anything even close to this wonderful image!
Must have something to do with the photographer !

Exceptional, as always.

I like how those clouds just pop out of the pastel sky. Really lovely. Looks like icing on the beach as well. Yummy :)

The clouds and the reflected color are awesome here. You've shot here before right?

Eva,
I like the 3D look the clouds have. The lighting is also very nice.

This really is my favorite kind of color and light. Pastels just do it for me!!! The clouds do look amazing too. I like it a lot as is, but I guess in a perfect world, a little more, or less foreground features might work good too.

Hi Eva :wavey: You do it every time! Capturing that magical serene mood.. The colors of the clouds, and the water motion are soooo calming.

Exquisite, Eva. The color is tremendous, and those clouds are almost surreal. Has an incredible 3D look to it. I am always amazed at the variety of images that you have been able to bring back from this one area, and they are all spectacular. Superb work.

Just beautiful with striking detail. Agreed, sometimes the best color is opposite the sunrise or sunset. Good example.
And I can almost smell the fresh salt air!

Very simple beautiful shot, I love the 3D feel to the sky and the colors are sweet. I might try to bring down the reflectance in the foreground just a little to make it easier for the viewers eyes to move out to the horizon and into the sky for the good stuff. It always pays to turn around and see what is going on behind you - excellent shot.

Eva,

Great color and you're right, some of the best color is often behind you and away from the rising or setting sun.

I really like the line of silvery clouds. In fact, the length that they stretch makes me think this would make a great pano. Other than the reflected color, the immediate foreground isn't all that compelling and could be cropped for the narrow view. But regardless, you've captured a lovely and colorful coastal image. You sure are blessed with some fabulous skies!

I was surprised to see that you didn't use an even slower shutter speed than you did because I get a sense of movement in the sky. Takes talent and a sharp eye to find interesting compositions in such a wide open space.

Awesome shot Eva. I love the light reflecting on the water... just beautiful! The sky is also very beautiful although perhaps slightly dark in balance with the brightness of the beach. Stunning work Eva!!

Glorious indeed! I like the splayed out cloud and colours reflected on the wet sand. I agree there is a silvery sheen to it. I can see why this is your favourite place.

exquisite colours. seems a touch oversharp to me in this web rendition? maybe TK's cloud sharpener applied a little less might have been better to my eye! but lovely scene, eva, nicely rendered.

Ah, the anti-sunrise. I agree and part of it is the sensor seems to like the less bright side of sunrise than the full blown high dynamic range sunrise itself. This is gorgeous! :toast:
