As winter is getting ready to take stage here in my country, I'm posting this shot taken in the last day of my Swiss trip. After Andreas left in the morning, I spent the entire day exploring a small area just outside Zermatt. There were a few moments of fleeting, beautiful light, like this one, that gave me the opportunity to capture the mix of autumn and winter. Hope you like it.

If you have some time to kill, I invite you to check out all the images from this great adventure. Thanks.

There is a larger version too

This is really cool, Dorin. Lots of great fall color on the two slopes and then the hint of winter in the background. I love the background trees, btw, and I think they make the image. :toast:

Wow, I love the layers in this, the snow covered trees in the shadowed background are very nice.

Dorin,

So glad I opened this one as it certainly exceeds what I thought the thumbnail would bring. I love the juxtaposition of the cold, frost laden background with the warmth of the trees up front. Excellent capture.

Interesting mix of elements captured here. I particularly enjoy that the placement of that darker slab of rock in the UL third and how it ties brighter area in with the darker bg. Well done!

This is genius, Dorin. I remember looking at these slopes when I was on the train back to Täsch and found them very interesting as well. You made something special of this subject for sure.

This is excellent, and very effective! I hope you put on the 70-200 and zoomed in on one of those background trees too though.

Pretty neat, Dorin. I like the negative/positive sense to the frame. Very dynamic as a result.

A very good "isolation" shot Dorin. Very interesting texture in the rocks. The snow on the larches is very nice too. Good work!

Nice composition and super details; the lighting change between the FG and BG is a great element and the frost/snow on the trees sets it apart. Good job.
