Ahhhhhh, got it.

After thinking that the roadrunners had finally left town, I got a tip where at least one is now hanging out. It isn't that far from the cemetery where this one was born. I found this juvenile this morning, and it put on quite a show. 7D, ISO 400, f/8, 1/2000, partial crop

Hopefully, you'll have even more shots with them - I don't think RR migrate.
THis is a great pose - I can almost hear him saying "aaaaahhhh" when he found that itchy spot.
You have really gotten some great shots of these guys!

Rob,

I had to laugh when I opened this, the action is great and the roadrunner really looks like it is enjoying a good scratch. I like the setting with the dark area at the top and the golden hues of the dried grasses, I might consider taking a bit off of the bottom to create more of a pano crop to see how that looks. The eyes of Roadrunners fascinate me and this image shows the eye very well. Lovely light, details and angle.

I def would try a pano up from the bottom if this were mine Rob. It appears you have plenty of detail to work with. I like the scratching action.
