November Rain

Seems like ages since I last posted here. Hope everyone is well. Just travelling about the UK, exploring the Scottish highlands and enjoying every moment no matter what the weather brings. This was taken in pouring rain and strong winds during sunrise at the Quirang on the Trottenish Peninsula. Not the shot I had in mind, but I am happy to come back with. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice. Cheers!

I like this a lot, Winnie. All the layers look great and I like the colors. I'm enjoying the light as well. For me the dark band across the bottom adds nice depth. Nice to see a new post from you, and this is a nice one!

Hi Winnie I know that particular view pretty well. The Scottish weather has been its usual fickle self providing breathtakingly short but very beautiful transient moments and it appears you managed to snatch a very lovely moody shot. Hope you and Kah Kit enjoyed your time in Scotland and it was great to see you both in Glencoe. All the best

Ian.

Even the larger photo struggles to do this justice. I'd love to see a large print. Beautiful light play among the rich blue, and the distant snow adds real depth. A 2x3 of just the central peaks and light would be a winner too.

Impresive light show Winnie. It must be fabulous to see this kind of drama in person. Beautiful capture!

This is terrific! I love the spotlight effect, and mountains appearing in the bg. Sometimes the shots we dont have in mind are the ones that turn out the best! :toast:

It's a little harder to really appreciate panos on the web. Thanks for posting the larger version. I love it and really wish I had the opportunity to see it in a large print. Great image, Winnie! :toast: :jump:

Glad you're enjoying the sunny Scottish weather  . I like the rays of sunlight streaking through the gloom in this shot, and the way they highlight that small headland and create the layers.. I'm not sure about the centred comp, and thought a crop from the right might be an option. Beautiful landscape.

I love the way you've captured the tones here! I was thinking of a small crop from the right, but I've been known to be wrong. :toast:

Love the Pano and the sweet spots of light and rain. If there is some way to make the brightest spot less centered I think that might add even more interest.

Nice capture of light and shadow. What I like about this is the snow capped mountains in distance.
