A classic view of the Tetons taken in September just as the leaves were beginning to change. This is about as good as it got that morning. Some clouds moved in and blocked the sun soon after this photo was taken. There was no magic hour, just a magical minute  To my surprise there were only 3 other photogs there that chilly morning, two of which left before the real light came. I chose a reverse ND grad filter for this comp because the light on the top of the mountains was so intense. I'm not sure about the title yet. Would appreciate any comments or critiques you may have..and don't forget to view the larger image!

Wonderful image and strong composition. Love the contrast between sky, mountians and trees. Does look a little soft to me, especially the mountains - probably jpeg compression. Maybe sharpen them up just a bit. Great pic!

Great shot, Zack! I love the various colors.
Don't you just love when you have the whole place to yourself at a moment like this?

Zack, no doubt a very tough exposure on this one with the light hitting so intense as you mentioned on the mountain tops / sides. You were lucky to have only a few other photogs at this popular location. It looks from this angle you are a bit down south on the parking lot wall area. The northern spot along the wall can really get crowded. One spring I was setup just on the other side of the north wall with three other photogs. When along came some guy who was late to the sunrise jumps over the wall and slips down in front of me and took out two of the other shooters right in front of where I was.
Needless to say I just kept on shooting and enjoying the site.

Nice job Zack. This image makes me want to get back to the Tetons ASAP. I really enjoyed my visit there a few years ago. Classic scene that is well taken. Nice control of the light. Good work!

The band of light across the hills works perfectly. Nice capture of this icon Zack!

Very nice, Zack. I love the sunlit peaks and the depth creates by the close trees.

I like this a lot, it's quite nice how you have the soft pink light all the way across the frame, forming a nice band with the shadow below. Well done!

Gorgeous shot Zack. You could hardly have wished for better light. My only complaint is that the small version lacks sharpness, however the softness is not evident on the large one.

Zack,

Terrific capture from this infamous overlook. Hard to go wrong here, and you have been blessed with some wonderful light on the mountains. The only issue I have is that it seems that the color and clarity are a bit different between the top and the bottom. there's a fairly strong presence of magenta in the mountains and the clarity/contrast doesn't seem to match the foreground and Snake river area. Maybe I'm the only one who sees it.

Still, a terrific landscape with great light across the mountain range.

Nicely use of tree as a layer to create three dimension and a leading line to the beautiful golden moutain.

Hey Lon, good eye. Taking another look at the processing I realized when I warmed the white balance I also added a little magenta tint by mistake. Here's a repost with less magenta up top

It's a spectacular scene, Zack. You did really well with the light. Second image is definitely better.
