In memory of Janice

..my sister-in-law who lost her battle to cancer last week. Lotus taken last summer by my wife for her sister.

She was a very talented artist and I was deeply touched by her interest in my photography. She took time and interest to view my gallery on this site and made many comments during her last 1 month whilst in hospital. In her last days, she talked about my images when she drifted in and out of her clouded mental states from the morphine infusion. The night before her passing, she asked me to show her my new postings but she drifted into unconsciousness the next day and departed peacefully.

That is quite the story Gary, sorry for your loss. It's good to know that your images were an inspiration and a ray of sunshine in an otherwise cloudy existence. Your wife's photo bursts with life and I'm sure is an excellent metaphor for her sister. Thanks for sharing, as it reminds us that there is more to life than getting the perfect shot.

Gary, What a lovely tribute...
I know your sister-in-law was touched and comforted by your (wonderful) work, and I hope you and your wife can find some peace and healing in that.

She would have been very happy to admire this last post, Gary. Really a splendid image, that seems without substance: only lines and light. Sorry for your grief.
