West Fork

West Fork of Oak Creek near Sedona AZ was in peak colors last week with turning maples, willows and cottonwoods. Interesting curvatures in the sandstone are found along some areas of the streambed.
As always, any feedback regarding composition and processing is welcome.

Nikon D90, Nikon 18-105 @50mm, f/8, -0.7EC, iso200, tripod, vertical crop of horizontal frame.

Plays some sort of mind trick on me that reflection. Well seen and a great and original composition.

Super-interesting rock formation and nice color accent to set it off. Excellent job composing this -- just the right amount of the image devoted to the reflection.

I had looking closely to realize the reflection. What caught my eyes at first is the curvature of the bank. Very interesting photo.

I really like the vertical scene you chose from the horizontal image. It is very well composed and excellently seen. The soft tree reflection against the hard rock face works well for me. Well done!

Nicely done Doug. The scaling of the rock is fantastic, and the tree/refection adds a lot.

Doug - You have created a nice abstract image with this comp. I cropped down with my scroll and found a horizontal of the reflection and lower wall very good too.

This is a very intriguing shot that challenges the viewer a bit . . . in a good way. The reflection and curvature of the canyon wall really make for a strong shot. I find just a small crop off the top--just to the bottom of the overhang--makes this even more pleasing for me. But it's quite strong as is.

It took my eye a bit to figure out the reflection, but I really like the scene. Your composition is really nice.

Thank you for looking, commenting and suggesting. This curved wall should create some interesting close-ups on the next trip.
