Aquarius, the Water-bearer. While shooting fallen leaves floating down the upper Hudson River, with trees on the opposite bank reflected in the background, I noticed that some of the leaves were carrying water. Close-up, the surface tension of the water on the leaf surfaces makes some interesting shapes, both under the leaf and on top of it.

At the time, I was paying more attention to the reflection than the leaf details (and it was difficult getting close to the leaves floating by as I waded in the river) so this is unfortunately a big crop -- only about 25% of the 15 MP frame. Nonetheless, it prints fine at the size I want. (Hmmm... I remember when I used to be pretty happy with the results from my old 4MP camera.)

Nicely done, if a little soft because of the crop...interesting colors. I would not have thought this possible without PS enhancement.

Wayne this is phenomenal, I love the rusty red reflections in the water as well as how the water seems to be lifting the leaf up and carrying it downstream. :toast:

Wayne. You've done it again. Was just about to post a leaf in the colorful fall waters with ripples but it is no where near the quality of this shot. Exceptional. What were you doing... swimming down stream? How did you get to the water level without ruining your equipment. :toast:

Beautiful, and made eevn better because of an element of mystery about what is actually being viewed. To my eye it's more photo art, even if it doesn't qualify for the gallery.
