Pyramid Lake

This was taken on a perfect morning at Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park. All C&C welcome. I got so caught up in the scene I forgot to check my ISO. I should have brought it down to 100 or 200. That would have brought the shutter speed down. Cropped a little off the top.

Canon 30D
Sigma 17-70
Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/1000
Aperture f8
ISO 640
17mm

Gorgeous scene none the less Richard. Fantastic reflection and clarity through the water. Nice light on the mountain and trees.

A tranquil beauty Richard. A scene like this could easily distract one from the technical details of the capture. Well done.

Beautiful scene. Great calm reflection. I might crop the bottom to make this a symmetrical pano and eliminate the bright rocks.

Perfect morning indeed. The reflection is perfect. I bet if you slightly cropped those bottom stones (that are out of water) you would have a totally rad refection pano....like Morris said.

Crisp shot Richard.

I love the composition and lighting. I would agree with cropping out the lower rocks.

Beautiful mountain reflection, Richard! I might crop mto a pano from the bottom to take out the rocks and go with the full symmetrical look.

Looks great, even with ISO 640! I hope you can still get a big print from this.
I like the submerged rocks, but I think the emergent ones are a bit distracting from such a perfect scene in the upper part of the image. I wonder if you might keep the rocks -- at least the submerged ones -- and perhaps gently darken the bottom of the image so the eye is not drawn to the bright rocks so much.

What an excellent reflection! I would get caught up in that scenery, also! The bright shoreline leads me into the frame from either side pointing right at that pyramid. Well done, Richard!
