Reflecting moment

A beautiful fleeting moment at lake Grindji in Matterhorn area, Switzerland. It was one of the few moments that day when we could see the sun. Soon after that, it started to snow and the weather changed for good. Hope you like it.

Outstanding! The 50/50 comp really emphasizes the symmetry here. As i was just telling Rich--he should borrow your crop cause it's a great example of using symmetry to your advantage. Im somewhat undecided about the degree of polarization in the water--but i think the interest is good enough that it works for me (it's not an ugly lake bottom).

Great reflections and balance. The foggy sky works well here.

This is very simple but not symmetrical at all. You'd have to fold it in half and have each half mirror it self to symmetrical. I think adding a third element would only make it stronger but it still nice as is.

My first thought was that a bit more pop to the color would be nice, but on second thought I think this is perfect. It is really subtle lighting, and the reflections imposed on the underwater vegetation work well with that. Really nice Dorin; lots to look at for such a subdued shot.

I have some from there when the sun still was shining on day one, and I didn't think the weather would be too good for some more shots on that foggy day. Well, you proof me wrong. That's a wonderful shot and the warm light really looks fantastic on the trees. Another nice addition to your Matterhorn collection, my friend.

I like the comp, the view into the water, and the dark clouds behind. Well done!

Stunning work Dorin. I absolutely love it! My only suggestion is maybe a tighter crop to eliminate the tree on the right. Either way...awesome work!

This is wonderful, Dorin. The conditions you captured this in were beautiful. Great comp for this too with the reflection. The sky is perfect for this IMO and I love the sharp detail.

Very nicely done - like the reflection and the degree of polarization.

the symmetric comp works well here, and the fog in the bg lends an aire of mystery.

Great shot Dorin. The trees have a soft beautiful quality to them. You've even made that more apparent with this type of light. I like it!

I like the subtle color and partial reflection Dorin. Nice light on the trees against the dark sky.

Nice arrangement of trees captured here. I particularly enjoy the way the reflection is minimized to allow some of the lake bottom features to come through. Well seen and captured!

Lovely work Dorin! I like the conditions and the mood created by the fog in the bg. I also like the simple and straight composition. The soft light from the side is also sweet.

This is a great shot Dorin, the sunlit trees look really good against the moodier sky.
