Red Leafscape

I was inspired by Sandy Richards' "Autumn Leaves", so I decided to post another leafscape of mine. While not as spectacular as Sandy's, I still enjoy it, and I love finding and shooting leafscapes. Please view the LARGER version for better details as the smaller version was saved at a "3" and suffered greatly from compression. The larger version isn't quite as bad as it was saved at a "6".

D2X w/ 28-70 @ 38mm
.3 sec @ f/11 - MLU and mc-30 remote release
100 ISO

Tripod
Capture One 4, CS4, TK's Luminosity and Saturation Masks, Marc's web sharpening.

Critiques, suggestions, and comments always welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Another real beauty Bill. I really admire your ability to see and compose these. Nothing wrong with the exposure and post processing either. (smile) Outstanding image.

Very neat, Bill. Looks as though many of us are using leaves as subjects this week. I'm about to submit one too

I especially like the cool colors in this version.

Nice job.

The soft light shows off the colors in a great way. The grouping is just as pleasing. Excellent "leafscape!" :toast:

Bill:
Taking pictures of colorful leaves must be real fun. Actually I tried heaping some dried leaves on the scanner yesterday and it turnout okay - however being in the subtropics, we do not have the colorful leaves you have shown here.

Beautiful colors, Bill...nice lighting too. At first glance I wanted to crop at the bottom but after using my L, I realized that your comp is perfect! Nicely done.

Oh, those red maples are spectacular, and I really enjoy seeing both sides of them, as well as the surrounding pine needles and "broken" white oak leaves. I can hear them crunching under my feet as I look at this. Much better than most of the "arranged" shots.

Wonderful frame-filling collage Bill. I like the "natural" appearance of this.
