Here are some more flowers from Denali National Park. Again I was so impressed by the amount and variety of wild flowers in Alaska. I took this image on the Mt. Healy Trail.

Canon 30D
Sigma 17-70
Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/125
Aperture f11
ISO 400
70mm
Cropped to vertical, about 60% of original

I think this is the best of the series of flower photos you have posted. The focus is on the flowers, with just enough depth of field to define the leaves without making them compete with the blossoms. From looking at the data you have provided with each photo, I think it is the focal length you chose for this image that helped put it on the top of the heap.

Beautiful tundra shot of the low brush cranberry. I can see just s slight bit of grain in the enlarged version (due to crop or sharpening?). Nice intimate view of a very small and delicate plant :toast:

I like the composition Richard. I might brighten the lower flower a little. I might selectively darken the brighter horizontal bands and the one bright diagonal stem? in the bg. Excellent capture and a fine image.

Richard:
Like your comp here. Pat's suggestion of toning down the bright diagonal stem is good as it tends to draw the eyes away from the beautiful flowers.

Hi Richard :wavey: Another fine capture of wildflowers! The composition is perfect, except for the RT diagonal stem being too distracting
