Yet another juvenile from 2008-I need to get out soon. While this looks like fall, it was late August. I debated trying to remove the oof leaf from behind the head, but decided against it. It's certainly obtrusive in the thumbnail, but I don't think it is so bad in the larger image.

430D, 500mm f4 + 1.4TC, Black Widow on Gitzo legs, f13 (I had just been trying to get multiple birds), 1/200, iso 320, Av mode with +2/3 compensation (highly unusual for me to use that for this species, and I can't recall why. Cropped from horizontal to vertical, normal processing in CS4. Taken at 8:16 am on August 23rd.

I always appreciate your comments and criticisms.

Thanks,

I like the your position of the bird here Dennis, and the perch works well across the frame. I'm not bothered by the oof leaves and the bird is quite sharp. I do notice a tad of noise in the BG of the larger image. :toast:

Nice and sharp with tons of details. The vertical composition works well here.

Dennis, the bird is sharp but I like the soft feel to the image and the directional light. Some of the OOF leaves aren't ideal IMO but they're certainly not image killers.

This is a very cheery image Dennis, I think the sunny yellows and the blues look great together.
