Just something simple from a recent trip to the Adirondacks. Was leading a workshop up there and caught a still moment at the peak of autumn. To learn more about this image, visit my daily photoblog.

Neat lines, with those of the rock faces in contrast to the lean of the tree trunks. There is a nice range of colors too, but the yellows and lighter greens look overly blue, and warming them could provide more separation.

Beautiful color, and I like the conflicting diagonals in this.

Nice one, Ian. The counterpoints set up between the leaning trees and lines of the rockface gives it a striking feel - unusual in a good way. The colors are good, but there is a slight feel of extra cyan or blue...for me in the rocks.

Just gorgeous... The repeating lines, arrow-like effect is very nice, as is the color.

Really interesting look, Ian. I really like the repeating diagonal lines in this. Beautiful reflection with that glass looking water. The fall color in contrast with the rock wall looks very nice.

Hi Ian,
Welcome back. Honestly, I like the image, but for your standards I don't think it is one of your best. The bend in the middle frame is too centered (IMO) and think the right side of the image with the illuminated greens & patterns of foliage is much stronger than the left side. I could certainly see a signficant crop in from left. The 50/50 reflection compostion is pretty standard for fall foliage shots so I don't think this reflects your usually creative and unique style. Don't get me wrong I like it well enough as is, but for one of the best landscape photographers on the planet, this is just OK.

Awesome! Kind of reminds me of the sonic boom wake trailing a super sonic jet. Nicely seen and captured!

Great shot Ian. I love the intermittant trees/rockface pattern. Reminds me of being back home in Ontario.

Symetry, symetry and more symetry. I love this shot. The colors are very nice and the softness of the refelction against the tack sharp top half make for such a nice visual symbionce.
